Ingredients List:

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Pepper
  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Cup Raisins
  • 1/3 Cup Pimento Stuffed Spanish Olives, Chopped
  • 1 TBSP Brine from Olive Jar
  • 8 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/3 Cup Dry White Wine

Preparation:

Put onions, peppers and garlic in a food processor and pulse until smooth.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef to skillet and cook until browned. Once the meat is browned, remove excess fat with a large spoon.

Add onion, pepper and garlic puree to the browned meat and stir.

Add the white wine and stir. Then add the tomato sauce, Spanish olives, raisins, cumin, oregano and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer over low heat for another 10 minutes.

Cover the skillet, reduce heat to low, and cook until the mixture is heated through, 5 to 10 minutes.

Serve with white rice or use as filling for empanadas.
