Chicha Morada is Peru's most popular non-alcoholic drink. It's enjoyed throughout the year but particularly during the summer months.

It's purple color comes from the Peruvian purple corn, also known as maiz morado, grown in the Andes mountains from which it's made.

The origin of chicha morada can be traced back to the Inca Empire.
