Pandebono Recipe | Receta Pandebono

Pandebono or pan de bono is a traditional Colombian cheese bread.

It can be made into balls or into rings. Typically, it is eaten with a hot chocolate or your favorite Colombian coffee.

The pandebono recipe is quite simple and absolutely delicious! Perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack!

Ingredients List:

  • 2/3 Cup Cassava Starch or Tapioca Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Masarepa or Precooked Cornmeal
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups Colombian Quesito or Mexican Queso Freso, Grated
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Preparation:

Pre-heat the oven to 400°F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

Mix the two flours and the sugar in a bowl.

Stir in the grated cheese, salt and eggs. Mix well.

Knead dough until smooth. Let dough rest for about 10 minutes, covered with plastic wrap.

With your hands, shape into balls, about 2 TBSP per ball.

Place balls onto the prepared cookie sheet and bake until golden brown and puffed, about 20 minutes. Serve warm.
